Lola (46 Yueyang Lu, near Dongping Lu, Shanghai) – this is a club dedicated to house and sometimes a bit of disco or techno. More indebted to the European pedigree of clubbing, Lola forgoes the tables, dice, and top 40 hip hop/mash up character of many Shanghai clubs for the European concentration on pumping sound systems (by Funktion One), and the latest in continental house and techno. They do international bookings almost every weekend, with house stars like KiNK, Josh Wink, and Tyree, as well as up-and-coming artists.
